Under 100k for 10k may be tough to find.

indeed. since the budget isn't flexible, you'll (OP) need to be flexible on mileage. 'under 100k' doesn't mean 'maintenance-free' on a 10-year old car.

Agree. Increase your mileage cap or budget and/or be very patient in your search. Any other specs? AT/ 6MT, colors, etc?

I recommend looking at all ZHPs regardless of mileage. I originally wanted one with under 100,000 too but I found a very well sorted one for just the right price at 120,000 miles. Service history in my opinion is more important than mileage.

the car would be financed and the check cutter wants 03+ and under 100k and will only loan me that amount.

i purchased a m3 for 10,600 last year but didnt want to spend the 2500$ to fix SMG pump so i cut my losses..
and yes it was modded competition pack wheels, alcantara or w.e its called suede steering wheel, bilstein coilovers etc..
so for me even if i had more then 10 grand i would not consider the zhp over a M3 but under 10k and ZHP all day..
while theirs plenty nice m3s going for 15 to 30 grand i rather spend 8-12 on a nice zhp and then mod that!!

They are definitely out there.... I bought mine for 10k with 55k miles on but it took me a year to find her. Granite it's not a ZHP. But with perfect records and such lows miles I couldn't pass it up. Good luck!

why do that and have to wait X amount of time (aside from the ''hunt'' for the right car) when I have an approved auto loan.
if i wanted a cheap car to pay cash id buy a police intecetpor or any other beater for like a grand and call it a day..
i even found a few nice non zhp's that i could buy cash but their value will goto shit while the zhp will stay the same if not RISE as they thin out..
i found a black on suede coupe with 143,00 miles for 8 grand but no maintence records and AT if 6MT i would have already bought it =(
i could have bought a orient blue on brown sedan with 101k for 7700$ but it was AT and four door so I passed (it sold already) im just waiting...

There is a lot of freedom in not being in debt and not having a car payment. Just because you qualify for a loan doesn't mean you need to take it (or should). Your call though.

So I take it you are looking for a 6mt coupe? I didn't see that earlier.

agreed, we are almost out of debt.... it is a horrible, horrible thing.

not having a car payment is a wonderful thing. i haven't had one for 9 years!

i would want a 6mt coupe but willing to settle for a 4 door or vert at etc if the car is right..
have found a few decent ones for around 12ish but its out of my budget still my issue is that im in FL...
everything here is sh1t and al the nice cars arre all out of state..
having to pay taxes in both states and shipping cost would throw me out of budget

There are usually quite a few FL cars or perhaps GA, etc. I don't think you'll need to pay tax other than when you register it in FL.

I am open to giving myself a few grand more with my budget but not a penny over 13k
if and only if that will get me exactly what I want (6MT COUPE WITH GOOD HISTORY AND OR LOW MILES)

JupiterBMW

As mentioned, you won't need to pay sales tax in two states. Buy the car out of state, drive it to Florida, and then transfer title/register it in FL. I've done this with two ZHPs now.

thanks for the tip!! keep a lookout for me up their in Otown only a few hours away!

I guess I can stomach paying like 13ish but the car has to be 6MT COUPE

Obviously everyone wants the lowest milage as possible and while this is the case I will consider well documented higher milage cars!

All the ones I'm seeing aren't far off from what I'd ask for way less miles.

Here ya go man. Just found this. This seems to be a good car for what you are looking for. It's just a little over 100k miles, but it's very nice.

an m3 seems less interesting due to high maintence cost someone help ! lol

Well as the saying goes. If you don't have a car payment then go for the m3 since you can spend that payment money on the mods and maintenance.

FL116
04-13-2014, 07:55 AM
Don't buy an m3 yet, because as soon as you do, a ZHP will be for sale that you will want and you will kick yourself in the face for not waiting lol be patient.

Either choice results in a great car. I don't want to be shot at for saying this but I would wait to find a ZHP.

No shots to be fired by me!

I'd go for the ZHP if I could find what I was looking for, but between what I want and what I can afford, I'm seemingly betwixt and between ...

[edit]
Then again, as I say that, there might just be an AZ ZHP on E46 that fits the bill ...

Okay so I was just driving home and saw 3 ZHP coupes and a sedan for sale. They were at a dealership but Im going to check them out tomorrow. If you want, I can let you know if they are good or not. I dont know if you want to buy from a dealer or private party.

But I know what you mean, Im finding a lot of other great bmws for great prices but Im trying go stay patient and wait for the zhp. But idk, maybe one day the perfect deal will come and may have to get something other than a zhp

I'm not saying it's not a ZHP but I don't think it is. No mtech 2 body kit or increased tach redline. I didn't think our cars came with the wood trim...other than the 6 spd which I thought was a zhp exclusive option that's all that represents zhp..
