Claying your windows.

Just thought I would give detailing novices (like myself) a heads up. I was kicking around the garage.......and clayed all of my windows. I was appalled by the amount of crap that came off my recently cleaned windows.

Anyways....I used an Adams clay bar, and some Meguilers Detailing spray as the lube. Worked pretty well and took me only 15 minutes.

Just wait til you take the car through the rain. You'll see the benefits to claying your windows. You'll bead some pretty decent water

I will try this on my old ass 89 325is, results could be incredible if it will take the 20 plus years of road crime and neglect out of them. I will be getting paint job on it sometime this year and glass cleanup is a must.

I heard vinegar works good.

I've used vinegar and water on my windows in the past with great results. Maybe straight vinegar on the worst of the water spots.

You have acid etching from hard water. Are you one well water?

Well water will cause acid etching in your clear coat and on your windows. Be careful...

Look into Aquapel for your windows. Search it up on YouTube for comparisons. I've had one $12 application last two years. Way more convenient than RainX.

Wow there is a lot of that stuff! You could even buy a bulk load of these for a group buy to sell on the site or giveaway for prizes.

The cheapest I see is $4/application but at $5 shipping that's more expensive. Maybe the selling will ship you 25 of them for the same shipping.

But it's a great product. Everyone that I've got on the product here locally is very happy with it compared to the competition. What's special that most others don't have is in that 'tube' applicator are two liquids. Once the tube fins are squeezed which cracks the membranes inside for both liquids to mix it starts to leak out slowly which you rub onto the glass. Aquapel then cures and bonds to the glass making it a long lasting product!

It's amazing stuff considering that your windshield wipers are your second lifeline next to your tires in rain. When you can have great tires that can shed water fast enough from underneath and a windshield that can shed water faster than your wipers can wipe, you'll become unstoppable in the most extreme rainstorms experienced. Even driving on the highway and a semi streams a second of puddle water onto your car, you will only be startled but your vision will be clear to keep a straight line.

When you consider the alternatives to not using this product on your car, $10 is one of the most economical "what if" insurance to invest in yourself and the people around you.

Once you get it I have a trick to apply it. The packaging says it'll only last for the front windshield. But I can apply to every side window, side mirror and rear window all in one go. :D

It also works great on house windows if they receive a lot of rain on them too. You'll notice that the slicker, less porous Aquapelled surface will give dirt a hard time adhering to.

Yep. I have a spray bottle. I'll put water in it and add some soapy water. Looks like that works with clay magic. Doesn't seem to break the clay down.

Application TIP:

Do this on a nicely cleaned/clayed window.

Once you squeeze those little fins and fluid starts to come out and saturate the pad, rub it all over your windshield so u have a kind of wet coating on it but not dripping down the glass. Start on passenger side windshield, run around front to driver side windshield. Quickly goto your driver side windows and do the same, then to the back window, around to the passenger side windows, both your side mirrors, then start over and rub that wet stuff into the glass. It'll turn into a smudgy film. Keep on working it into every piece of glass you have. After you've done that for a few minutes you're good to start rubbing/buffing it off with a soft cloth or papertowel. Then enjoy the awesomeness when driving in the rain! :D
