Greetings. I'm new here but used to hang out on Bimmerfest and E46fanatics (same sig). I used to own a Tiag ZHP bought new in 2004, traded in 2009 for an X5 when kids came. Currently driving a new Outback for the family hauler and happy enough, but have always missed that ZHP. Looking now to pick up an enthusiast-maintained summer car, thinking Imola Red, 6MT>AT, sedan or coupe in very condition. Anyway...
A nearby dealer has such a car, low miles (under 50k) with clean Carfax but FOUR previous owners. My question is, should I find this concerning? To my thinking most ZHP owners know what they're buying, and that just seems like a lot of turnover...
Thanks for any input!

Does seem like a lot with that low mileage. All in same state?

Look at the car in its current state. If there are any issues, find them.
4 owners wouldn't worry me.

Have you ran the carfax? Are they actually 4 owners? Lease?

My car has had 3 previous owners but, after some research, the first two were on CPO lease (thus under BMW care) and the last one was the guy I bought it from, who was a former ZHPmafia member. It sounds iffy at first but with a bit of research it turned out to be a non-issue. So dig up as many records as possible on it. It doesn't always mean a bad thing.

My new car had 3 PO's, not a big deal as the car is in great shape
Edit: side note, I am the second owner of both the old ZHP and surprisingly also the '82 320i

Yep, I'm the 5th owner of my current ZHP and I bought it sight unseen... Took a huge risk, but as they said, big risk, big reward. :thumbsup
Good luck and welcome back to the ZHP, and to the Mafia!

I actually can't remember exactly, but I am either 4th or 5th owner. I think 5th, actually.

At face value, concerning, but service history prevails.
