I noticed this car today -- looks like it could have been a sneaky ZHP buy. Looks like somebody swapped out the ZHP wheels for the standard sport wheels before trading it in or something.
Low miles, good options, looks clean -- I nearly crapped myself. I ran an Autocheck on it, however, and it comes back as having Frame/Unibody damage. The seller lists the title as clear.
Steer clear unless you're willing to roll the dice.

Good catch. Add the VIN to the registry if you have it. http://www.zhpregistry.net/

Being a clear title doesn't mean it didn't have a repair performed, just that it wasn't totaled or a rebuilt/salvage title. It's free and clear of any liens and the owner has rights to the car. I wouldn't call that being sneaky or anything.

My wording was poor. I meant sneaky buy as in it wasn't listed as a ZHP, but clearly was.
The Frame/Unibody damage -- I guess it's possible it could have had it, or the auction company could have just listed it that way to avoid returns, but to make no mention of it in the ad is a little suspect.
I contacted the seller; they insist the title is clean and that the frame damage appears because Manheim was unable to verify it. It's still a dice-roll, I just wanted to give people a heads up in case they were looking at it since there's no indication without running the VIN.

Added to registry.
It looks like somebody bought it for $8900. If it turns out its clean, somebody got a hell of a deal.

No stickers on rad support = aftermarket. Headlights have massive gap between hood and lens = aftermarket hood.
Yeah, good call. I didn't notice any stickers on the underside of the hood, either.
I got this response from the seller when I asked them to clarify why the Autocheck reports frame damage:
It does have a clear title, what autocheck is reporting is that it was
announced with possible frame damage when we purchased it at Manheim Auto
Auction.
W subsequently had the car inspected and found no frame damage.
What happens is that most cars sold by finance companies and banks are
sold as "possible: frame damage" to avoid any returns.'
Car has a clean
title.
Caveat emptor. I wouldn't be so uppity about it if they'd be forthright in the ad.

This car is up on a "no reserve" auction again:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-3-Series-Base-Sedan-4-Door-2004-BMW-330i-Sedan-4-Door-3-0L-Suede-Interior-M3-PKG-Premium-PKG-/271412312093?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3f316f381d&item=271412312093&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
My guess is that the last "no reserve" auction was bid up by the seller (shill bidder). My guess is that the same thing will happen this time. Let's wait and see.
