Hey everyone,

I'm finally getting around to replacing the VCG on my 04 330. As far as I know, it is still the original. I've had the car for over a year now and it's time to do the job.

I already have the oem VCG and the valve cover seal washers. I will also be changing the spark plugs while i'm in there. I am planning on doing this tomorrow and have set aside 5 hours as it's my first time doing this.

Are there any other parts I should have on hand? Should I stop by my BMW dealer and get some valve cover studs and washers? Whats the consensus on using sealant in a few areas?

I know this topic has been covered many times, but i'm just looking for some additional guidance.

Thanks!

Shouldn't need any extra parts on hand. Just some RTV sealant for the half moons.

Just be careful not to over torque the bolts. Doesn't take much to snap them.

Good luck. Not that bad of a job. Just keep up with all the nuts, etc.

If you set aside 5 hours, how much beer can you consume over the last 4 hours?
