All if you are looking I have found at least 6 ZHP's for sale on auto trader today...

There are, by my count, 25 ZHPs (Twenty Five!) listed for sale on Autotrader within 500 miles of me with less than 100k miles on the odometer.

Every single one of them ... is an AT.

Every. Single. One.

Makes me want to weep ...

Hey, there ain't nothing wrong with an AT! But I do understand why you'd want an MT :-)

Be sure to register the VINs here: http://www.zhpregistry.net/

Look, I understand, I've lived in and around LA for 15 years now, for a DD or commuting car, I'd buy an AT, too. And I recognize that a 6mt is always going to be a minority of the cars on the market.

But 0 out of 25???

C'mon Car-Buying Gods, throw me a bone!

Le sigh ...

Another thing to do is check the pictures even if it says AT, sometimes cars are mislabeled by whoever is trying to throw them up online at the dealer, etc.

I've also noticed this.

Or the opposite, where they list it as MT ... and you look and it's actually an AT, because I guess the fact that the AT has a Steptronic option confuses people. I loooove those ...

I eyeball everything that says "ZHP" or "Performance Package" or has the stock ZHP wheels to see if an interior shot shows the center console, just in case.

I usually scan for the bumper then look further.

Nope. Didn't make one yet. I figure it's like the real mob, you're not in until you're in, and right now I'm still the tail end of "I know a guy who knows a guy whose cousin would be *perfect* for that thing you want to do!" on the scale of things.

But I'm looking. As in *seriously* looking so:

Welcome.

Thanks, hopefully soon.

Well, somewhat close to this: http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/4275991543.html

It isn't the "Perfect Unicorn" (not coupe, not stock wheels, alcantara wheel, prefer ever *fewer* miles, probably a bit overpriced, etc) , but it's close enough that I'm seriously considering taking the time off work to fly out and pick it up, if it checks out in a 3PI. Texting with the owner now ...

Was just venting that I wished there was bloody something close to that within a reasonable (as in, I don't have to take time off of work, even *with* over a weekend) distance ...

Where are you located??

Where are you located??

SoCal.

Right now I'm looking as far out as NorCal, Vegas and AZ, basically, anywhere I could reasonably get to and back over a weekend.

If nothing happens, by mid-March, I'll be able to expand to the PNW and Texas, but right now I'm slammed at work and out of vacation time, so even if I found exactly what I was looking for that far out, I don't think I could make it work.

Somewhat amusing, I was at lunch today, at some strip mall near where I work in Irvine and had literally just finished a lunch spent checking autotempest and autotrader and every online car site that I could think of, without any luck, and was walking back to my car, muttering about ZHPs and ATs and PITAs, when a bloody fantasy passed within feet of me: the first Imola Red 330ci ZHP I know (for certain) I've actually ever seen in person.

Didn't notice much before it made a turn out of the parking lot and left my sight: looked pretty good, sounded even better, stock exterior, youngish Asian guy behind the wheel, but frankly, I was too dumbfounded to do much else.

Perhaps I should have chased after him, waving, shouting, "Wait! Come back!! You might be my unicorn!!!"

Nice car, wish I could help, but I'm set (probably irrationally so, I know) on Imola Red.

I suppose it's an automotive corollary to: once you go black, you'll never go back ... once you've tried red, nothing else will turn your head.

Besides, I'd have to change my username ...

;-)

I'm not sure why this one's still on Autotrader, it's been sold for quite a while. I ran the Carfax using the plate and it's actually the Imola vert that I checked out 2 weekends ago up in Oxnard (there's a thread on that). Evidently, the guy didn't get his price, so he traded it in at Carmax (which is where he bought it).
