Hi everyone,
Just joined a few days ago and forgot to introduce myself! Without further ado, allow me to do so...
My name is Damon, I'm 16 years of age. I've loved cars all my life and for the longest time I loved Subarus. At 14 I was set on buying a WRX until an E46 M3 drove by me on a busy street in Toronto one nice Summer day. I couldn't help but stop dead in my tracks and stare. As it pulled away my jaw dropped at the glorious sounds it made, and at that very moment I decided that I needed to have one of those!
So, I started saving my pennies! I did some photography/videography work as well as yard work before being hired at a local restaurant when I was of age to work. By 15, I had saved enough money to purchase my first car: a Fern Green Metallic 1999 E36 BMW 328iC. I owned it for a little less than a year until I decided to sell it.
Here's a taste of what my E36 looked like by the time I sold her. KW Variant 1 coilovers, Gold/Polished BBS Style 5, Carbonio intake, exhaust, FX-R 3.0 retroffited headlights and a few other more minor details were the extent of my modifications.

After selling the E36, I was left with just this... and a very empty feeling. :(

Only two days later, fortunately, I negotiated the purchase of an E46 that would hopefully better suit my needs/wants in a vehicle than my E36 did.
I ended up getting a gorgeous Imola Red on Alcantara 330ci M-Sport. For those of you who don't know, an M-Sport in Canada is basically a ZHP in the US minus the cams, exhaust, diff and gauges. Everything else is identical.

(The wheels were silver when I bought the car but I changed them over to what I've named "Metallic Anthracite".)

And now in Winter mode:

Thus far the only modifications are LED interior and license plate lights, a Carbonio intake, catless SS rep headers, a Rogue DMS exhaust, a colour change on the ZHP wheels and black roof/kidneys/side mouldings.
I have many more things planned for this vehicle but those will have to come with time as I can only earn so much as a student working part time as a server at a restaurant!
Sorry for the novel, haha... but hello!
Glad to be a part of another great BMW community.

Woot! More young guys. I bought my first ZHP right after I turned 18. Now I'm on my second one. Glad to have you hear. The cars are looking fantastic.
Tell us more about the carbonio intake? Haven't heard of that one.

I've had Carbonio intakes on both my E36 and E46 and I absolutely love them. The carbon fiber is of great quality and looks gorgeous in the engine bay, especially when you keep the rest of your bay nice and clean.
I don't have any engine bay shots of the E46 as of yet, since I haven't detailed the engine bay, but here's a shot of the E36 engine bay with the intake... when it was kind of clean.

If I recall correctly, they've ended production on all of their BMW stuff, but I managed to pick up two of the few remaining kits from a local forum member: http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155783
They sound fantastic as well...

Welcome man. Imola is a great color, and the ///M5 reps look great! Any future plans for your car?
I didn't like the Fern Green Metallic on the E36 when I first bought it, but it definitely grew on me a lot. I still never fell in love with the colour, though... so I made it a thing that I had to LOVE the colour of my next car. Hence the purchase of an Imola vehicle! My list was Imola Red, Alpine White, Dakar Yellow, Techno Violet, Avus Blue or Estoril Blue. It HAD to be one of those!
Far too many future plans. Maintenance first, haha. Unfortunately that's rather boring. I'd like to do some preventative maintenance in addition to what I and the previous owners have already done.
After that's over with, I'd love to get a Coby wrap done on my wheel, along with some other Alcantara bits for the interior. After I'm satisfied with the interior, wheels and suspension need to be addressed, although the wheels may have to wait... and I do actually like the ZHP wheels enough. They definitely need some spacers if I keep them, though! Finally, I'm considering some CF splitters as well as an ECS Tuning CF strut bar (that way in the front I have CF on my intake, splitters and strut bar - they'll all tie in together). Oh, my passenger door's window tint is also peeling which has been driving my crazy... and I need a new driver's side foglight as mine got cracked. All the little things! I basically want to get this car into perfect, tip-top condition and then add a few of my own things to it afterwards.
Welcome, always nice to see young-in's interest in the Bimmers. It helps in keeping the brand alive.
Indeed! I think I'm quite rare, sadly. At least, where I live I'm the only BMW enthusiast I know of in within nearly 400km of me. Barely anyone my age even show a remote interest in cars at all!
Beautiful car! Bought mine in cash too, albeit a few years later. Congrats on the new car and congrats on finding one in Canada, I had to drive 12h to go get mine!
Thank you! To buy both my E36 and E46 I had to drive to Toronto, an 8 hour round trip.

Might be the most helpful intro post in the history of the site. :)

I went down to central Pennsylvania to get mine, and then picked up winter wheels in Long Island NY and dropped off the car in northern VT for customs clearance... I drove 20h in total, 2,000 km in about 30h. LOL

Thank you, I forgot to mention that all of the photos were taken by me with the exception of the two with the tdott.me watermark. The snow drift picture is also just a screenshot of a video my friend took of me.
Everything else was shot by me with my Canon 60D and either my 85mm f/1.8 or my 28mm f/1.8.

It really is a very nice green! Looks gorgeous during golden hour light.

I wonder if I might actually know some of them. I might if they're in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) or are a part of the local forum (maXbimmer). I also attend every local BMW event I can make it to. I'd be surprised if I haven't already encountered a ZHPMafia member at Bimmercruise without knowing it.

I'm around!!! Welcome to the E46 club. I have family in T.dot so I'm there a few times a year. You have you same winter wheel as I when I started in the E46 club 8 years ago. Your age and your vehicle tastes are inspiring. Keep that up and work hard. You seen like a very well grounded teen. Keep that up and you will also own a house in a few years!!
