Greg, glad to have you. I am a member at Roadfly (just haven't posted there in 9 years or so; same screen name). Hope Charlie is doing well.
Anyhow, make yourself at home here.

Thanks, guys, and after reading just a handful of threads, you guys are all hard-core Zhpperheads! I love it! I have the only one in our BMWCCA chapter (well, that is active in the club, anyway, but I'm not aware of another), and I take a little satisfaction in pointing out my car's relative uniqueness. I am looking forward to hanging about here.

We had to start this place because there weren't enough of us in one place. We know exactly what you mean. I don't have any friends in San Diego who drive a ZHP (and they all drive BMWs). They're hard to find.
We get our fix right here.
Again, welcome.

@pyreguy, that's from our club calendar (I'm Miss March) and we have a guy who is really good at setting this sort of shot up. There was a boom suction-cupped to the trunk lid that held the camera about ten feet from the car just off the ground. He pushed the car to get it rolling, then opened the shutter for 2-3 seconds. Then the boom is photoshopped out. I was barely rolling, yet it looks like warp speed!

How cool!!! I would have never guessed that's how it was done.

If you make it to the Mafia Family Reunion, I will have the camera equipment with me and make sure we get a shot for you.

I'm working on it. Devising a plan with David to meet him at his house, rest, an caravan up the rest of the way with him.
A rolling shot would be worth the entire trip.

Welcome, Greg! I've only been a member for the past week or maybe a bit more. I feel more home here than I do in my own apartment.
Gorgeous coupe by the way.
Cheers,

We aim to please around here. It's like family -- except we don't fight with each other. Ha!

Nice shot and Welcome! We have a pro photographer who attends track events for our club and when he does his little speech at the morning driver meeting he always ends it with "Remember, it's not how fast you drive, it's how fast you look that counts!"
