Hello everyone. This has really been bugging me and I've noticed a few other ZHPs with front bumpers like this but is there anyway I could realign this? Or does the whole thing need to come off and be put back on differently? Or should I not worry about it :) 11775 11774

My pics are terrible but my front bumper on the left isn't perfectly parallel to the side fender, it's tilted down a tad.

My suggestion is to take the inner front liner out and look up to where the outer fender bracket is (usually white or black). Should be two bolts holding it. Loosen those and push in on the bracket and that corner of the fender. Tighten the bolts. If that doesn't work or it still looks "off", then i would check to see if there is a bolt/nut on the outer most point of the bumper reinforcement. If there isn't then you will have to pull the bumper off.

I've had experience with 2 of these doing this and this has been my resolutions.

That gap I'm not sure about, but you can fix your trim gap by just pushing the pieces together.

Good stuff. I wish I wouldn't have seen this thread because this will be the first thing I look for when I go out to my car in the morning. Haha.

I will do this when I have the car apart for the cooling system overhaul this weekend thank you again!

Common problem. Good advice given.

To fix this problem I had to take my bumper off and realign with the supports.

Right. Isn't there a pocket on that side that mates to the piece on the bumper?

How do you go about "grabbing" the strip to move/slide it?

Put all your weight into it and slide it or use duct tape method.

I can't help you as mine is sagging to and after removing the bumper I have realized that the only way to fix it is a new bumper.

But I did want to saw that for some reason in the first pic you paint looks almost looks matte or frozen. Its looks cool and makes me want to see a frozen gray ZHP. Lol

Dane, please explain the duct tape method.

Dane, please explain the duct tape method.

I've found that if you put duct tape on those trim pieces (that need to be slid) and you leave a tail hanging, you can grab that tail, while pressing the tape onto the trim, while pulling.

Shit... I can't even describe it right :facepalm

Maybe you understand?

Right. Isn't there a pocket on that side that mates to the piece on the bumper?

Yep. I'd say it's more of a slide type of thing where the bumper slides onto it.

That was me.

Really?? The trips back and forth for epoxy! Still holding, right? Recommended?

Epoxy? I think we're talking about different things then... I didn't require epoxy.
I did this once at Bruce's meet as another time at Dane's as well.

Joop was fixing someone's bumper. We had to epoxy the inside piece back to the cover.

That was me and it couldn't have happened without you being awesome enough to drive me to home depot.

But alas it has begun sagging again.

^ I'm fairly certain it gets knocked out of whack whenever you scrape the bottom of the bumper, or otherwise go over something at an angle that's enough to move the bumper slightly.
This happens to me on a regular basis. :(

Thoughtso.
Well you figure that ~$8 tube wouldn't hold for ever! Maybe it's time for another tube (ha). I can see why you'd want to do it right.

Yeah. I figured it was worth a shot.

I always knew a new bumper would be in the cards at some point.

I'm sure.
I had (have) one in an even tougher spot. PDR helped a bit, but it needs a body shop. Hopefully they can knock that out.
