Guys,

I realized today my performance is way down on my ZHP because I have a clogged cat from 100k miles of burning a qt every 400 miles.

I need cash for headers to fix the problem so this has to go. This intake makes an INSANE noise (see vid) and flows well. Comes with K&N and Spectre filters. K&N has 10,000 miles of use but was just cleaned and ready to go. Spectre has less than 1000 miles on it and also ready to go. Both filters also come with cleaning stuff and oil (one K&N kit, one Spectre Kit)

Hate to let it go, but when you get beaten in a 60mph to 80mph drag race by an Automatic 323i with 300k miles, you have to do what you have to do. I need exhaust flow! My bank 2 is lava hot and I get misfires on that bank at high rpm.

No. I've been aware the car has lost a lot of power, but tried everything else to fix it. When a stock 300k mile 323i AUTO beat me in a race (rather badly might I add) I knew it had to be something more substantial than simple stuff. Tested the cats and sure enough, the bank 2 cat reads 390 degrees at idle while the bank 1 cat reads 195 degrees. CLOGGED!

On the bright side, I no longer burn oil!

I used the non scienctific method. Just used a laser thermometer to test temps before the cats and after. I also suspected my 2nd bank cat for a while because I always get misfires on bank 2 anytime I'd rev it past 6000rpm despite replacing EVERYTHING.

Don't forget, my car has burned 1qt of oil per 400 miles for close to 100k miles. That means about 200qts of oil have passed through my cats.

A more scientific test is to read your live data on your pre and post cat 02 sensors. If the pre cat and the post cat voltages read about the same, your cat isn't working. Slightly different problem than my clogged cat issue.
