They will all look good, but for winter setup, "C" will be much easier to clean. I do like "E" the most though.

Most of the aftermarket wheels on TireRack don't look like they belong on a ZHP, IMO.

I agree, to an extent. It's really all I can afford to drop on a winter setup, though.

I think I might be leaning towards A, for two reasons.
1) Dark color doesn't show dirt as well as silver
2) Silver lip doesn't show curb rash as well as dark :)
Plus you get a little dish look... :dunno

Have you ruled out used OEMs? Style 44s make great winter wheels (that's what I run), as do 68s.

I voted C as it looks to be easiest to clean. Also, I think the gunmetal will look good against the Imola. :thumbsup Good luck!

Style 68's all day long. :thumbsup

You can probably pick up 68's for less than any of those wheels... just gotta look. Some even come with tires!

A true OEMer.
Or how about a set of black rims off a 5 series, Botund?

Way too aggressive offset. Plus, the 5 series has a different center bore.
I'm going to have to sell these to a 5 series owner.

Found a set of style 157's for a decent price. Not quite what I was going for, and not quite the tires I wanted (general artimax are currently on them), but it'd save me some $$$.

Still not my bag but I would choose these over any of the first wheels you posted. What pushes this choice even further into the "definite" category for me is the money savings. This is what it looks like on an E46 (pic stolen from E90Post):
http://www.e90post.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=497031&stc=1&d=1300160864
Another option is Style 119's, the ones Oli has on his car. These are the sport package wheels for the 325i I believe...
These are even easier to clean because there's no ridge going around the spokes.

I put a set of "D" on my daughters 2006 BMW 325i sedan - ordered from Tire Rack with rims, tires, and the BMW center cap - they look OEM. I was surprised who light they were - especially compared to the BMW OEM rims I took off.

I'll probably go with the 157's... they're just winter tires. Maybe paint them black or something. Gots to save the monies...

Get 'em! The tires being on them already is the main selling point here IMO.

Picked up the 157's last week, and got them on the car today (apparently it's supposed to snow already tomorrow...). Pretty darn happy with how they look in person! They've got a touch of bowlishness to them.
Thanks for all the input!

That's my thinking too... They have a bit of depth to them I think they'd loose with black plastidip. Plus they're not all f'ed up like my last ones, so not a lot of imperfections to hide, lol.

My car is at iND for the subframe still so luckily I avoided switching. I need to pick up a new blizzak cuz one of the ones I bought needed a patch and they said it's suspect to hold. Grrrrr

So far so good! I did go with straight up snow tires and not the performance flavor in anticipation of having to deal with nw indiana's notorious lake effect snow storms. I miss the performance of the dunlops I had last winter, but I think these are going to be much more confident in actual snow. So hopefully that pans out :)

I'm not sure if this thread is still active. Before joining ZHP Mafia, I was looking at "E" above for a winter set-up. It seems that 17" is the way to go? I'm looking at Blizzak WS60s (Recommended by the Bridgestone website for ZHPs.) Which tire profile would be best? Do you have a choice with offset on the wheels? Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you!

215/45/17 should do you right. If you don't see a lot of snowfall you could bump up to 225 if desired.

Glad you went with OEM wheels over the other options.
I got lucky and before the Winter I sold my steelies with winters for $500, then picked up a set of Style 65 reps with Dunlop tires for $500 (after negotiating down from $800!).

Not a bad Winter setup if you ask me! ;)
-
As for Plasti Dipping them, I'd say go for it! I did a black base with Silver Metalizer over top to create what I like to call "Metallic Anthracite" and I think it turned out quite nicely on my 135s!

(I'll stop thread jacking now, hehe.)
I'd highly recommend the product. I used a total of 6 cans and it's help up very well against my driving. I think the key is to be patient, apply it properly and apply a thick enough amount of it. With metalizer over top of black I have a tough time believing that it's just Plasti Dip! It creates a really gorgeous colour that changes a lot with light. I think it looks pretty good on my Imola. :)
