Use this thread to post pictures of your other cars. I'm always curious to see what Mafia members are driving when they're not driving the ZHP.

My dad owns many BMWs. So thats where my obsession began :)

But my other daily/winter car is a 2002 Jetta 1.8T 5MT Lots and lots and lots of maintenance and a good amount of mods

Hah I have a bunch of good pics but theyre with my old school SLR non digital :p Will take more now that I start daily driving it more again

http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo223/cruisineuro/DSCN0069.jpg

Anyway the car is great, lots of fun, and very quick for what it is. And very good in the snow.

I know sigh...Now especially that it has a new turbo. I have done a few things, the good thing is too, it's a lot cheaper to mod than the ZHP.

But yeah, software, exhaust and I am easily at 230hp, and you feel that 230hp :)

This is the look it will have eventually in Royal Navy Pearl of course

Ya know, I kind of like that interior. The trim is the only thing I don't like, and I'd add more black, such as the shift boot. How sexy fresh leather looks though...

I think it looks awesome! IMO the matching shifter and brake boots are one of the things that really make it so special.

So I'm definitely two toning my car red now after seeing this

But see Nate...his car isn't yellow.

But the not-so-subtle contrast between colors just appeals to me. Of course, my seats would remain black, my boots would be the same two toned look, but my steering wheel tops and bottoms, door panels, back panels, and possibly my read armrest, as well as front armrest. Maybe the sides of my seat too, not sure.

Being a computer guy, I horde files. I have files from... probably before 2000, because I never delete any data. Once I wised up and got an external drive to store all my personal files on I was able to just keep moving it along to the next device as I got newer stuff. I was looking through some pictures and I found one I took from within Gran Turismo 3 on a ps2. This is from 2005. It's not a zhp, but close:

But I can. :biggrin

Seeing that '88 E30 reminds me of how annoyed I am to see an '88 without the plastic bumper swap being done! I don't know how anyone can stand to keep the diving boards if they have the option for an easy retrofit. I would have killed for an easy retrofit for my '87...

Looking good Marcus. I see potential above. What are your future plans for the car?

I'm not tracking the car, so I have no plans for the brakes. These OEM brakes are plenty good for what I do (which is drive on the streets).

I have 12,000 miles on the car (it's now two years old). Brakes are still in great condition.

Thanks, Stathi. My mods are a reflection of my tastes -- as well as a goal of keeping the car as stock looking as I could. What I mean by that is this: I wanted my mods to look as though they were meant for the car (as though they could have come from the factory that way). Nothing over the top.

Thanks for the compliment!

http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss351/3zhpguy/Family/IMG_2396.jpg

Now this can give you an idea of what an influence a dad can have.

This is a good part of the family's vehicles. The 2009 A4 belongs to my middle daughter and it is a 6 speed. The truck next to it is my Son's.

http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss351/3zhpguy/Family/IMG_5948_2.jpg

Now the reason for the big truck was my influence from 1988-2004, when I had my 88 Toyota 4 x4. Oh; my Son built this monster mostly by himself. One of the cool things is; he has a dual transfer case, so take 4 low and droop that ratio x (-4). Way too much detail of what's been changed.

Snapped a picture of a BMW 850 (12 cylinder) today. It had AC Schnitzer type II wheels on it.

DW, you nailed it. Exactly. That's exactly how it went down. We were in the carpool lane. We had to speed up and slow down a couple of times to get a good shot.

Saw an E31 in Bergen one night last week in the hotel parking lot. Wanted to get a picture in the morn but it was already gone. Owner had it badged as an ///M8-- got a chuckle after I googled M8...

I snapped this picture before leaving Minnesota a couple days ago. This is taken in the in-law's driveway. Two blizzards went through in two days while we were there.

She's probably wondering why Mike is snapping yet another picture of them -- so that he can post them here to the site.

The women folk just don't get us.

Oddly enough...it looks like the human in the back seat is also unhappy.

Such unhappy people in a BMW....sigh

Hahaha she was busy trying to take a picture out the passenger window. It looks like she was looking at her phone as I was taking this picture.

Definitely need more pics.

By the way, if anyone is interested in these kinds of cars, do a search of Alvin Tan and BMW. Alvin has done some killer projects.

One of Alvin's projects:

I saved those a few weeks ago but........I don't recall where I got them from.:biggrin

I just found this though that has some good info about the CSL and some of the other cars David Hobbs used to race.

http://www.sportscardigest.com/amelia-island-concours-cars-of-david-hobbs/

I saw him race that McLaren 320 in about '78 at Brainerd Minnesota. Here's a scan of an old pic of him and Peter Gregg swapping the lead back and forth. Hobbs would pass in the corners and the Porsche would be leading at the end of the 1 mile long straight.

Paul Newman was also there driving a Datsun.....

My old 2002.....the car we drove to Brainerd......
