OEM Euro M3 bumper - I will have some sort of splitter/spoiler - so this is just a quick PS

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/smoulton0204/wagon/Attachment-1_zpsa6b7e9ec.jpeg

OR

Stick with Mtech II and use a ultra rare (and pricey...ugh) Garbino carbon splitter from Japan

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/smoulton0204/wagon/666423c2_zpsa7bc14d2.jpg

I can find more pics of the Garbino if needed

Oohhh...that second option is quite worthy of the Wagone.

Sent from my GS3.

I have used clubsport splitters since 2005 and I like the look - but I am tired of them

Other options for Mtech II - Arqray, I have just never been wowed by the look...even molded on

I do not like the Hamann "surfboard" that is a similar design to the garbino (it hangs down more and doesn't follow the bumper lines)

Stuart, I say go with the Garbino carbon splitter. If I knew about this lip, I would have gone with this instead of the Arqray lip I now have.

Since the wagon is so unique I would say go for the Garbino lip.

Charlie - the lip is ultra rare. I do not know of anyone else in the U.S. with one..it is the price that scares me

10-15-2013, 10:08 AM
Stuart....still worth researching bro! Who knows? The price might be within the range you're willing to spend? One can only hope!

Damn....now you got me looking for one for my ZHP!

Garbino

HokieZHP
10-15-2013, 11:02 AM
Just looked them up. Found 2 places. One has the Garbino listed at a little over 700 and another in japan listed for 1300!

That is an expensive lip!

exactly - can you imagine messing it up?

The lip on my truck was more...but it sits up much higher

My vote is for the lip.

Do you know what the lip is constructed from? If it is polyurethane then they are pretty durable. If it is fiberglass, then I would be worried.

I might need more Garbino pics, but I kinda like the M3 better (I know that's not the prevailing sentiment at this time). It's unique, so if that's what you are going for, I'd do Garbino. It stands out. I just like the M3 flow better.

The M3 has the advantage of looking more aggressive even without any splitter/lip, etc

Can't go wrong either way Stu, but I prefer the M-Tech II bumper myself. When you mentioned a change the other day in the touring thread on e46F I considered suggesting a lip for the M-Tech II, but refrained...

Personally I disagree. I think the ZHP bumper looks more aggressive, especially with the Garbino. This is my vote.

M bumper lines don't quite match the rest of the car. If you look closely. So it wouldn't be my vote for sure.

I am going to make an aluminum or hard plastic splitter under the lip to protect (take the damage of going in and out of driveways).

Kind of along these lines:

I've always thought the M3 bumper looked way out of place on facelift cars. Something about the headlights angled up and the M bumper lines angled down (vs the MTech2's lines being angled up).
