Soooo....I was cruising this site, and saw this beauty. Whatcha guys think? I really miss my E90 and would love to get another BMW, since I replaced the E90 with a 2013 Dodge Charger.

I think I'm gonna give them a call and ask some questions..any questions I should ask, that I may not be thinking about?

I love the interior of this car, and looks like it has everything I want. Looks like it needs a new steering wheel air bag, front and rear bumpers, and maybe a passenger front fender.

I'd stay away from this car, IMO.

1) Airbags don't blow from that light of a hit. If they do, this would be the first car I've seen it happen to.
2) Mileage is not actual.

However, get a CarFax on it. You can get lots of good info.

How do you figure the engine got so dirty?

Engine bay looks like oil, covered in dirt, is all over everything. If I was looking for an M3, I would not be considering this one...

I would stay away as well, that engine bay looks like flood all the way specially if u look at that leak on the valve cover and also the interior looks extremely dirty and it doesnt look like only dust..

Yes they can. It happened to a friend of mine on an E90 335i he was leasing. He was sitting at a stop light and the truck in front of him decided to reverse into him. It hit just the right spot; says his airbags went off and they had to get replaced along with his exploded battery cable. The hit couldn't have been at more than 5mph but for some reason the airbags still went off.

Getting a Carfax doesn't tell the whole story. There have been quite a few cases where accidents weren't reported and Carfax didn't know about it, as well as other cases where Carfax reported a major accident even though the car in question was never in an accident.

All in all, my advice is don't buy a salvage car unless you have the know-how to know how bad the damage is and how to fix it. Otherwise, you could just end up throwing money at it and it will suck it all down and still not be right.

Also looks like the front end was smashed since the strut brace is bent on the passenger side and the wheel is bent in as well.

I would not do it and I bought cars from copart before.

Sometimes the cars there are hit, semi fixed and put back on the auction to bring more money. This could be the case especially with damage that is not visible.

Second pic, front wheel is sitting way farther in the wheel well than it should be.

Good catch Dane. I don't know what I was counting but it was this pic that caught my eye:

That's a full size wheel but it looks like a donut in this pic.

This car reminds me of that YouTube video where the kid does some unintentional off roading in an M3

Exactly. I don't mean to sound high-horsed, but as someone who has done this a lot, I can say a few things. First of all, BP, yes, the airbag can blow from a small hit, but in this case, I highly doubt that's what it was. Such a small accident would never cause suspension damage like that in a body to body collision, leading me to believe that the car likely ran onto something and has undercarriage damage. I also never said CarFax would tell the story. I just said you can get some good info, like I did for my ZHP (found out it was original owner and dealer serviced all it's life). Regardless, it's probably just a bent control arm or some bent component. It's something 85% of people on this forum could fix in a few hours. The damage is not bad, and could be easily fixed, unless there is some sort of hidden damage, which is where we arrive at Vas' comment. What he described happens all the time. I actually had a guy buy a Ferrari through Copart, sight unseen. Damaged looked minimal, but when he got the car, he said the doors were held on epoxy and that the car was trashed (but you couldn't tell from the pictures).

As I'm sure you've seen in my threads, you can get a great deal on a salvage or clean title car from Copart, but it's not for the faint of heart.

Also, as a personal preference, I wouldn't buy a performance car from an auction. Parts are simply too expensive, and the risk that your budget turns red real fast is high.

That wheel reminds me of a silver E92 M3 that looped it into a wall at mid-ohio and destroyed their wheel, as well as the bumper and fender.

Stay away. Not worth the headache

Thanks for the advice guys. I figured it I could get a great deal on it why not. I'm gonna pass on it after hearing all this, and it's up to 1,800 now. After hearing all this I don't want to spend that much on it. Who knows what else is wrong with it underneath.
