I got one for ~$35 off of ebay. Works well.

I have an ebay one that's worked for years... will sell for $20 including shipping. ($15 if 2010, $20 if 2011 - I forget but will check). I just spent $113 on the West half of an OEM 2013 one (decided to bite the bullet) so this will help recoup a little of the pain.

Dane, you linked to the firmware thread. Dan, if you want the firmware, I can loan you my firmware disc for free, just pay shipping. It's my impression you were asking about the actual maps.

Nice catch. I don't have NAV. I thought other link also had maps. I'm leaving now :)

For those of you who want to put in a custom splash screen on your navigation display at boot, there's a thread somewhere in that link that tells you how to do this :)
Upon further investigation I found a link to where you can purchase new navigation maps :thumbsup

Yup, update the s/w. It's not a big deal, but it's a little better. I have the 3D perspective view, etc. The maps are maps, essentially. Not a ton of difference there. @Dane, lol.

I have found that in 3D mode you cant really see street names all that well so I dont find it useful. Maybe I have it at the wrong zoom level?

No, that's right. Changing the zoom level helps but it's still different.
