This is an interesting affiliate relationship. ZHPMafia.com get a commission even if you do not buy Geico insurance.
Instead, in order for the site to get a commission ($6 for cars and $3 for motorcycles), you simply have to get a quote through the link provided on the ZHPMafia.com site (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?229-Affiliate-Advertisers-at-ZHP-Mafia). The commission ends there. The commission is not tied to any insurance that you buy (ZHPMafia.com receives nothing for the amount of insurance that's underwritten, even if you do sign up). The commission is only tied to the quote process.
We all need insurance. It makes sense to shop around when you're looking to get insurance. When you're doing that, feel free to use the Geico link on the site.

EDIT: So, I did a quote through Geico. I am now happy to say that I have switched insurers. My savings for the year? $727. I had AAA -- and they've always provided great customer service. However, the customer service is not worth an extra $727 a year. Enough said.

Cool, I might just check them out again. I last check a while ago and the rates weren't what I wanted, but rates change, so willing to give them another chance.

I used to have Progressive. But AAA beat them on price last time around.
Geico just sent me a birthday card in the mail. Thought I would give them a whirl.

:spit Holy shit! BRB! Wait, my house, 2 cars (with pretty high thresholds), life insurance, 2 million umbrella policy, and jewelry rider only cost me 1500 A YEAR! And you are about to save 700 bucks? Damn

My three cars are $2155 a year at AAA.
The three cars at Geico, with the exact same coverages, are $1402 a year. I'm amazed.

Do it for yourself first. The fact that I get a small commission is secondary. I just saved $753, which is amazing to me. What the hell??? I should have shopped around more when I insured all of my cars earlier this year.

Hmmmm...interesting, 6 years and no tickets and 3 cars, maybe I should check it out next year at renewal.

I would be interesting to see if something did happen, whether they use OEM parts. I think there are some "big" insurance companies that only use aftermarket, which is a deal breaker for me.
I'll have to look into it.

I pay more than that just for full insurance on my car. Hell, over double that. :(

I'll be giving them a call this morning, BP. I'll ask them some legal questions about their use of OEM and aftermarket parts. I'm well versed in the "like new" rules.
For the record, Geico (and other large insurance companies) will use aftermarket parts to the extent that a consumer does not squawk about it. I've never heard of a blanket, across the board policy instituted by an insurance company when it comes to the use of aftermarket parts.

Is that with the exact same limits and coverage? Still shopping around for insurance for my ZHP, AAA seems to be the best because I've been with them for 7 years.

Exact same limits and coverage.
We've been with AAA on and off for about 10 years.
And do not get me wrong. I've never been with a better insurance company than AAA. Their customer service is second to none. But I am not going to pay $753 extra a year for the great customer service.

It's now official. I am with Geico.
BP, I asked Geico about aftermarket versus OEM. They're just like AAA. They will use OEM for safety parts. They'll use aftermarket parts where appropriate. However, the guy did say that if you squeak loud enough, you'll likely get what you're trying to get (OEM).
I was satisfied with the response. I typically get what I want. I squeak a lot.
Final price is $714 every six months. I was paying $1077 every six months with AAA (although AAA does a yearly quote).
Total savings came to $727 for the year. Winner.

I did not, Mikey. But I've never been able to insure three cars for $1428 a year. Full coverage on both BMWs.

Just as a reminder to some of you. I keep all my insurance (home, auto, life, umbrella, personal articles) through the same company (currently state farm) I also get a discount on them by having them all there together. So keep that in mind if you decide to change your car, that your home MAY go up as a result. Just a reminder for everyone.

My 6 months premium through Allstate is $734 dollars.
Just did a quote and it's 2,038.65, with the exact same choices and coverage.
Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and hang out with my current provider.

It was significantly more for me at Geico than at AAA. I'll be sticking with AAA but did go through with the quote :)
I guess I'm old enough to remember that once upon a time ... and maybe it is still holds true ... Geico had a decidedly negative view on policyholders who owned radar detectors ... and even went so far as to help the cops with the purchase of radar equipment. Maybe this has changed ... maybe not ... but I won't touch 'em. I'm able to use USAA anyway .. and they are fantastic.

How would they know if you owned a radar detector?
Also, I have a radar detector in all of my cars. I didn't tell them about them, though. Glad I switched to Geico.
Back in the day, I'm told that Geico would ask if you owned one ... and then promptly refuse coverage, saying that owners of radar detectors were more likely to speed and by extension be in accidents. I'm guessing things have changed since then ... that they want your money bad enough to not ask. If you're happy with them, well, that's great ... but I'd be cautious in talking with them and letting it drop that you own a detector.
BTW my annual premium on the ZHP with USAA is under $700, partly due to my age and a pretty clean (but not perfect) driving record. If you can qualify for USAA membership, its a terrific outfit with great prices.

And basically..now your jacking the Geico thread with USAA stuff.....lol....:rofl

BUMP
Just my input. Geico (Government Employee Insurance Company) <--- fun fact for you
Is the only insurance I have ever had, nobody has ever been able to come close to them for me, and by close I mean the next cheapest quote I got was $1400 a year above GEICO!
I have also had to put a claim in through Geico which was easy and super awesome how they took care of it. My deductible was $500 but due to some parts I was able to source for them, I paid $47 when all said and done.

Good to know. I can't complain. Their Web site is great. They answer my questions on the phone. And they were cheaper than Allstate and AAA.

This is actually the second quote I've gotten from them, the first one being a few years ago; they're making a much better offer this time 'round . . .

Hehe - was just responding.
I got my Geico quote last night. Gotta verify same coverage and home insurance doesn't go up. Otherwise it looked good.
