View Full Version : What are the prices listed here based on? I'm thinking of selling - or was..

KBB puts my 06 330ci ZHP, Manual Trans, tisilver/alcantara, 57,xxx at a tick over 21k and Edmunds/NADA at 18k. Yet there are a lot of similar year/mileage cars posted here and elsewhere at 15k or so.

Am I missing something?

KBB is not a good tool for pricing special BMWs in my opinion.

Prices seem to be all over the place. For a low mileage (check), desirable colors combo (check) and clean and preventatively maintained car (I'm not sure as you haven't shared details), people will pay a premium. EAG just sold a 70k mile coupe for $20,500....

OP, I'm kind of in the same boat as you, and I agree, prices are all over the place. I hate to have to pay fees, but it's almost best to put it on EBay and let buyers set the price. Of course you can set a reserve to make sure it doesn't sell for less than you want.

That all being said, what does it cost to list/sell a car via eBay??

I'm pretty sure you get 6 free car classifieds per year from eBay.

I'm pretty sure eBay classified listings are just like the local classifieds, but online. So yes they are free. The regular eBay listings cost money to list.

I believe you can do free local classifies or free national auction style format. There is a success fee but most cars sell outside of eBay before auction ends.

There is no fee to list nationally, but when its successful there are. Here is a link to the fees list http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/motorfees.html#national

Appreciate the insight. I think I'll be scrubbing and detailing this weekend and get prepped for sale. I'll be sad to see it go, but onward and upward.
