Never been a fan of the myrtle wood, but I really liked the poplar trim illirep had in that Black Sapphire sedan

not normally a fan of the Dove gray interior but it seems to work on this color. I contacted the ad, waiting for a reply.

Good luck. Having the extra wheels is good. I'm not a big fan of the ones on there now, but others may be.

oh yah those wheels are horrid, however I'd probably replace the 135's anyhow, so it's not of much concern.

It's amazing how some ppl are so hard to communicate with when they are trying to sell something. From the potential buyers perspective it's a balance of not wanting to seem too eager so there is still room to negotiate the price (down).

Just spoke with him on the phone, car has 2 accidents on its record, but he has full repair docs for the work done. He mentioned one was a slow front end they replaced the hood, bumper and turn indicators.no details about the 2nd one just that it was both the 2nd owner and within a month of each other (bad luck!)
I'm on the fence with this one, but waiting for the documents, if it was simple body work done by a good shop I'd still be interested after a PPI.
any thoughts?

Considering that there's two incidents, I wouldn't pay near his asking price. Just my $.02.

Indeed, he did mention he was flexible with pricing. Got the vin, Carfax isn't showing the accidents so it's nice he mentioned it, it's possible they weren't claimed on ins..
Does anyone have access to the BMW dealer system?

I actually don't like when people clean their engine bay before sale. It hides things. I'd much rather see a dusty, dirty bay (not oily), because that way, any leaks are easily visible. I specifically refrained from cleaning my bay before sale.

How are you gonna spot an oil leak or PS res seepage if he just went over everything w/ Simple Green?
Obv, I'd clean it after I bought it, but when looking to purchase, I'd rather see one that's dirty because I'd be able to learn much more than by looking at a cleaned engine bay.

Ummm.....
I was just gonna say most would say that a dirty/dusty engine bay is an indication of a poorly kept car. Definitely NOT an indication the guy is an enthusiast.
I understand your point though.
The wood grain makes me skeptical, don't think it was ever offered with the ZHP, the front and back could have been changed out in the accident. I'd walk away and never look back.

I'm pretty sure this one wasn't wood grain from the factory. Using the vin decoder at http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/ shows it had silver cube.. not sure how that would look with the light gray interior.

I went for a quick look at this car back when it was first posted. It does have the M Performance intake. Seemed like it wasn't that well taken care of but I didn't notice any major major issues. From what I remember:
Clunking from rear making a U-turn, owner said it needed new RTABs
Shadowline trim coming off around rear passenger door
Headlight washer cap missing
Trunk was utterly stuffed with random crap
Owner had a E36 M3 before this so he wasn't new to BMWs, but I didn't get the impression that he was a true enthusiast or "in the know" (no idea what the CDV was, for example). He said it had been tracked "once" by the PO, had a set of Carbotech RP2s that seemed pretty new.
Think all of those things would have been pretty easy to take care of, but the vague references to two accidents (he hadn't found paperwork at the time) definitely scared me off.
