I'm in the process of installing my front FSD's and I'm thinking I'm short a couple of washers (1 per side). The car is new to me so I'm not sure OR too stupid at the moment to remember how many washers each strut uses. The guy who owned it before me wasn't a real genius. Maybe he spaced them
I popped the struts apart and there was just 1 washer per strut...the one between the strut mount and upper cup. I'ts the one you grease up and acts as a load bearing surface
I expected to find a washer under the top nut that supposed to do the same thing as the other washer..
..none was there... so the way it was assembled was with the top nut torqued against the inside race of the strut mount bearing...There must be a special washer between the nut and bearing right?
