I'm gonna do a CDV delete, so I figured I might need to top off the brake fluid reservoir with some DOT 4 brake fluid. Would it be ok to top it off with Valvoline DOT 4 from Autozone? i.e. can I toss some stuff that isn't Pentosin in and be fine? Probably be doing a whole flush soon anyway when I replace the brakes.

Sure. I think that would be fine as long as you get a good bleed.

I was just going to say that I've removed 3 CDVs now and I'm yet to need/do a bleed of the clutch afterward... So, you can save yourself some trouble there if you choose...
Good luck.

Haha excuse the profanity, but Evan and I spent a half an hour figuring out how to get the car up using two OEM jacks and two ramps that are too tall to drive up onto. Eventually we backed up onto the ramps (kindof a tight squeeze up near the tranny) and when we were all ready to take it off we realized we didn't have the right size wrench to bleed and decided not to do the job.. if only I did my duty as a true mafioso and checked this thread before taking the car down!

hahaha, we've all been there. More often than not I should just NOT work on my car regardless of having the right tools or properly jacking up the car.
If you're gonna bleed might as well change it all and do it the right way. Grab a power bleeder and some super blue and freshen it all up.

I've found on the CDV delete that if you don't bleed the clutch, then you don't get the full effect of that valve delete, partial but not all of it. Maybe it's just in my head, take the CDV out quickly so you don't need a bleed, but i'm old school mechanical and a clutch/brake bleed doesn't cost anything but time.
