Now, this was a very quick experiment, and still needs to be evaluated for longevity and effectiveness, but for now, after looks better than before ...
(it's hard to photograph black cube trim - so please note in the AFTER pics, the still white-ish areas are NORMAL and NOT remaining scratched areas - that's the way the light hits the trim and even the tiniest movement of the iphone makes them look like scratches - they're not.
You can clearly see 2 major damaged, wedding ring-induced spots now look 'gone' in the after pics...
Now everything looks pretty even and good - for now at least. I might try to put a sealant to prolong the finish.
I did with a black automotive touch up paint pen (not a bottle/brush but an actual pen where you can control the flow of paint) that we bought for our old black Hyundai Elantra, and it was perfect to use because this pen had almost dried out and near empty - so i could dab and brush with the tip of the pen like with a marker very often and get tiny amounts of paint on the damaged spots - with a new pen the results would be much messier - unless you left the pen uncapped for some time for the tip to dry out.
1 before and 2 after pics: ("AFTER 2" is probably most accurate)
