Hello~

I posted something a few months back, but I didn't receive any tips (good luck emails are nice but completely unnecessary, thanks!)

Looking for a Black on Black ZHP manual sedan with the old E46 chassis (so pre-2006). Of course the lower the miles the better, but as we all know it's more about the car's condition, type of miles, history, etc.

Please let me know if you hear of anything. I'm in the Bay Area, but if it's awesome, I'm willing to travel.

Zipadee, do you have any other requirments other than those listed? I ask this since the guys are throwing up cars (that meet your initial requirements), but you do not seem satisified.

Thanks for the note. I was hoping to get something closer to me (I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area). I did end up checking on the one in Omaha that jiggz posted (the other postings were coupes_, and there seemed to be too many problems with the car. If it was closer and I could have my guy check it out, I would have pursued it further.

I called EAG, but am wondering if that's a waste of money? I understand they bring each car up to perfect condition, but I don't think I need it immaculate for the extra $6K they're asking over KBB. Thoughts?

Whether EAG is a waste is still hotly debated on a lot of BMW forums. It's all up to whether or not it's worth it to YOU.

Personally, given that these cars are fairly reliable and easy to work on, I'd save my money and then DIY as much as I could. You'd save a lot of money that way. Or you could get a pristine example at EAG, but you will pay a hefty premium.

I'd go the DIY and do some WERK! Not only will you save money, you will learn the car.

You're not the only one. I would never pay that much either, but then again I strongly prefer to DIY myself - get to know your car, save $$$, an excuse to be alone with your car... With that said, I can see how it may be attractive to some buyers - one stop shop and all. If you are comfortable with the premium then I see no problem.
