I started to change my oil and extracted all the oil out, then realized I did not have ANYTHING to connect to my 32mm socket for the OFH cap as the sock had a 1/2" driver. So I simply finished draining the oil and refilled with new.
The question is: Can I replace the oil filter with the oil still in it? I was hoping that since the OFH sits higher, that when the car is off, the oil will not still be up in the housing...

Yes. You can replace it.
I replaced my ofhg without draining oil, for reference.

There will be barely any oil in the OHG when you remove that filter :D

Thanks DW! I felt so dumb... I stood there in the parking lot of my apartment complex trying to figure out how I was gonna get the cap off, thinking that if I put oil in now, go to the store and get a 1/2" socket wrench, that I would have to drain the oil again. I even called my leasing office to ask if they still had a maintenance guy on the grounds to see if I could borrow a socket wrench, then I had the facepalm moment.
